Solution | Anti‑Theft Engine Immobilisation with BLE Wireless Relay

Engine immobilisation solution: Vehicle theft prevention doesn’t need to be complicated — it just needs to be smart. TOPFLYtech’s BLE 5.0 wireless relay (TSR1-B) provides a low-cost, highly effective anti‑theft solution by remotely disabling the engine via a secure Bluetooth connection. Without authorization from the paired phone app or cloud command, the vehicle won’t start — even if a thief has the key.

How the BLE Wireless Relay Works

The relay pairs with TOPFLYtech GPS trackers that support BLE or directly with the mobile app. When an unauthorized start is detected or when the owner issues a stop command, the relay cuts the ignition circuit (or fuel/power line) to prevent engine start. Communication is handled over BLE 5.0 for low power, secure pairing, and robust range inside vehicle cabins.

Advantages over Wired Relays

  • Concealed & Tamper‑Resistant: Wireless relays can be hidden separately from trackers, making them harder for thieves to locate and disable.
  • No Extensive Wiring: Simplified installation reduces labor and risk of visible tampering marks.
  • Remote Control Options: Immobilise via smartphone app, SMS/command from a tracking platform, or automated safety rules.
  • Low Cost, High Value: Affordable hardware with a strong deterrent effect and fast ROI through loss prevention.

Engine Immobilisation on Fleet & Consumer Use Cases

  • Rental fleets — stop unauthorized use or late returns.
  • Car dealerships — secure test‑drive vehicles.
  • Logistics and high‑value transports — add a second layer of theft protection.
  • Personal vehicles — discreet anti‑theft for peace of mind.

Security & Compliance Note

Immobilisation must follow local laws and safety rules — especially for vehicles in motion or carrying passengers. We recommend implementing safe immobilisation policies and driver confirmation workflows to avoid unintended hazards.
